Or 1 in 3200 according to NASA! Per the Washington Post, even rocket scientists can’t say for certain when, or where impact will occur, "Out-of-control crashing satellites don’t lend themselves to exact estimates even for the precision-minded folks at NASA. The uncertainty about the “when” makes the “where” all the trickier, because a small change in the timing of the reentry translates into thousands of miles of difference in the crash site."
But further review reveals that NASA says that the 6 ton satellite which is coming at us at 5 miles PER SECOND is expected to break into 300 pieces, but only 100 will make impact, and "To be clear: that's the odds that any of the wreckage will hit any of the planet's 7 billion people, not the odds of hitting any specific person."
So for those of us worried about being struck by falling debris, I guess we really do
have a better chance of winning the lottery!
On to brighter topics, my birthday weekend! My hubby took me to a great little Italian pizza place on North Pennsylvania Avenue called Napolese. It was delicious. Then we stopped at Nordstroms for birthday shopping where I ended up with a cute skirt outfit and a new black leather jacket. The actual birth day was enjoyed with family, horses, dogs, and good friends.
