UNCLE!! (Enough already!)

Here is today.....they said "a dusting"....that was 3" ago.

Just a few short months ago we gazed at our Winter Wonderland with awe. Fast forward through days of single digit temps, 50 mph wind gusts, ice, sleet,snow, ICE, more single digit temps to this week's forecast...SNOW! Every single day! Here Eric shows what hours of chiseling and digging produces: About 3'X 1' of clean driveway.

This is Indiana, not North Dakota. Come on already....enough is enough (even Leo thinks so).

Icepocolypse 2011

What a wacky winter! Snow covered ground for the majority of the time since December 1st. Weekly snow storms and now....ICE + WIND + SNOW = BLIZZARD Warning! The radar looks very colorful so we are preparing for the worst.

We were fortunate enough to pick up a new generator,

so that will help cushion the blow if necessary.

Eric was thrilled with a Snow Day, and spent most of the day lounging in his "New" room.

His Sienna, Italy flags are hung with care on the wall and various other flags are on the windows and ceilings. It seems he has become permanently attached to his new leather recliner. Oh to be 17 again!

Hope you are all comfortable and safe wherever you may be. I'm using this time to get a good start on a quilt I've just started....and make regular trips out to the barn to hear the scolding neighs from its residents telling me they don't like being cooped up!

Good food and good friends is always a winning combination, so that's what we chose this year for NYE. As an added bonus, we got to watch the PURDUE BOILERMAKERS beat Northwestern.

Sarah decided a bit more fun must be had prior to her departure, so she and Claire arranged to hit the slopes (or slope in some cases) for some fun, exercise, and laughs. While the driving was left up to the moms, it was still a great way to work in a little extra "mother-daughter" time. The moms certainly enjoyed a few laughs of their own along the way. Kudos to both young ladies for trying something new - Snow Boarding! Outstanding! Here's a peek....first is LUCY (aka Kate) and then Sarah:

Tis the Season!

I guess I am not the only one with BBD (Big Butt Disease) as this photo demonstrates, Santa has it too and even got stuck in the chimney!

The CES2010 is a big hit with its multi-functional uses - salad/chip bowl, hat, drum set to name a few!

It was great that family could come from far (Wash DC and Oxford) and near (Indy) to enjoy family time in Chicago. Thanks to the Buffalo Grove and LaGrange hosts for great food and many laughs!

Christmas with the Fishers!

What a nice time we had with the Fishers! The grandchildren are now bigger than Grandma and Grandpa! The cousins had lots of laughs, whether it was giving Aunt Kathy a makeover, or crashing helicopters together. Good times. Merry Christmas!
